It is nearly second nature to want to document our weddings or our children’s lives. Yet, we can live for years in a house we love, visit parents or grandparents in theirs, and ultimately have no record of these spaces, their objects, and how life was lived in them. What were the kitchen and the living room like? What books were on the shelves? What exactly hung on the walls of the children’s rooms?

By combining documentary impulse and artistic sensibility, I create one-of-a-kind photobook portraits of people’s homes. I have made over 50 such “Lifescape” books in Europe and the US, commissioned by spouses, parents, children or friends, for their loved ones with the future in mind.
